Hogyan készül - lépésről lépésre
1st Step:
Choose object and topic
The economic history of the capital and the role of the markets within a big city is one topic of the permanent exhibition. In fact, the trading route station stretching between the cities along the Danube played a defining role in the history of Buda, Pest, and Old Buda.
Some products have been taking a long journey from the supplier to their consumer for thousands of years; this is not unique to today. However, there is a great difference in the duration and the means of the transportation and packaging.
The reconstruction of the medieval store is an outstanding location to think about the journey, the price, and the packaging of the products once sold. It was apparent that the terms "fair trade" and "maintainable economy" may be brought up here.
2nd Step:
Check technical preconditions
Die Ausstellung Licht und Schatten ist gut ausgestattet und wird in einigen kleineren, korridorartige Bereiche gelegt. Right in front of the medieval store was an area that fit for us to place another station. Next to this, we already have an interactive spot: there is a game with the fragrances of the medieval market that encourages the visitor to participate.
3rd Step:
Cost estimates
The multi-stage planning process took a long time since we tried to create an installation that is easily understandable and well-functioning without any staff from the museum. We have tried to use wear-resistant materials.
4th Step:
Create content
To define the content, we consulted the curators of the exhibitions and regarding the fair trade topic we got advice from NGOs. There are already publications for young people which are dealing with the topic of fair trade and some of these cases are picked up.
5th Step:
Last corrections
When we want to explain more serious contents with shorter texts, it is worth to check and interpret it by outsiders. The effect is greater if we formulate the message simple but clear.
6th Step:
Implementation
The installation is well varied and easy in set-up; only the small parts need to be monitored regularly.
